How do I sign up for a membership?
After your initial consultation, you are welcome to select individual follow-up visits, as needed, or purchase a membership for ongoing support. Membership sign up is through our partner platform, Hint Health. Sign up details will be provided after your initial visit.
What if I don’t see a membership plan that suits my needs?
We have designed our offerings to suit our common patient needs. If you desire additional touch points, we are happy to discuss additional options or we may recommend working with our dietitian for complimentary support.
Can I delay the start of my membership after my initial visit?
Yes. You can sign up for a membership at any time following your initial visit. Membership start dates can also be customized or delayed at the time of enrollment.
Can I cancel my membership? What happens after a membership ends?
Memberships are non-refundable during their term. After each membership period, your membership will not automatically renew. Patients may choose to renew for ongoing care or transition to individual follow up visits on an as-needed basis.
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept major credit cards, HSA / FSA cards backed by major brands, and direct deposits. All payments will be made through and processed electronically through our electronic medical record or membership platform Hint, which prioritizes data security.
Can I use my insurance at all?
We will not bill insurance for our care, but all of our services carry the potential to be reimbursed by insurance as out-of-network care. Labs and imaging are likely to be covered when the lab or imaging center is in-network for your insurance. Medication coverage and cost will be dictated by your plan’s formulary; medication cost may also vary by pharmacy (and whether it is in-network for your insurance). We ask you to verify all these details, as needed, before our initial visit.
At your request, we are happy to provide a superbill that includes all services rendered. You can then take this bill to your commercial insurance provider. We also partner with Sheer Health, a company who specializes in supporting our patients through the insurance reimbursement process.
We regret that we cannot guarantee or predict a reimbursement level, which will depend on the specifics of your insurance policy. Government programs like Medicare and Medicaid will not reimburse out-of-network services. Superbills should not be submitted to these entities.
For background information here: Traditionally, health insurance companies set the rules for provider reimbursement, which then dictates how much time we get to spend with you. By shifting to out-of-network care and keeping our patient panels smaller, our model allows us to spend more time with you at each visit, see you more frequently, and respond quickly to your questions or concerns through our inbox messaging.
Can I see you only for an initial visit?
Of course. If you are looking for a second opinion or a one-time, in-depth evaluation, a single comprehensive visit may be enough to review your history, symptoms and prior testing to create a personalized care plan for you.
Am I required to work with your dietitian?
Working with our expert dietitian on GI or weight-related goals is a great opportunity to enhance your health journey – but it is not required! We recognize that not everyone needs a dietitian or you may have an outside nutrition guide. In some cases, our doctors will recommend that you consider working with our dietitian, though any decision will be yours to make.
